The Gita · Chapter 9

Bhagavad Gita 9.20

trai-vidyā māṁ soma-pāḥ pūta-pāpā yajñair iṣhṭvā svar-gatiṁ prārthayante te puṇyam āsādya surendra-lokam aśhnanti divyān divi deva-bhogān

Translation

The knowers of the three, the Soma-drinkers, the purified from sin, worshipping Me with sacrifice, pray of Me the way to heaven; they, ascending to the holy world of the Ruler of the Shining Ones, eat in heaven the divine feasts of the Shining Ones.

What it means

Knowers of the three Vedas, purified, worshipping Me with sacrifices, seek the way to heaven and reach the holy world where they enjoy divine pleasures. Ritual religion delivers exactly what it advertises: a higher, still temporary, address.

Try this today

The heaven-seekers described honestly: their route works, and it has an endpoint.

Something to reflect on

Which of my pursuits promises a higher address that is still temporary?
